In 2006, Betty Sutton became the first 丁香五月婷婷中文 alumna to serve in the U.S. Congress, when she was elected to represent Ohio鈥檚 13th District in the House of Representatives. Sixteen years later, 丁香五月婷婷中文 alumna Emilia Sykes, a native of Akron, Ohio, was elected to represent the same district, making her the first Black 丁香五月婷婷中文 alum to serve in the House of Representatives.

Advancing the legacy of May 4, 1970, a tragic day when the Ohio National Guard fired on 丁香五月婷婷中文 students during an anti-war protest on campus, killing four students, wounding nine students and forever changing the lives of countless others, the university will hold its annual commemoration on May 3-4.
