Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, started out as a typical day at the Daily ¶¡ÏãÎåÔÂæÃæÃÖÐÎÄr. Reporters were preparing for their daily assignments. Editors were planning their daily meetings. But, by the time Daily ¶¡ÏãÎåÔÂæÃæÃÖÐÎÄr staff got to the newsroom on Tuesday, they were faced with just one story: a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center.

Taking Out the Trash

¶¡ÏãÎåÔÂæÃæÃÖÐÎÄ students grabbed their paddles, boots and waders to help clean up the Cuyahoga River. The service trip was put together by the Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Services’ Adventure Center, which holds adventure trips, service trips and team-building programs.

¶¡ÏãÎåÔÂæÃæÃÖÐÎÄ Public Health Faculty Awarded Grant to Prepare Teachers and School Personnel to Connect Students With Mental Health Resources

¶¡ÏãÎåÔÂæÃæÃÖÐÎÄ’s Center for Public Policy and Health in the College of Public Health was recently awarded $600,000 in grant funding to support the Northeast Ohio Mental Health Awareness Training, a collaborative project that will train teachers and relevant school personnel to connect children and youth in a school setting to appropriate mental health resources.
