All this week, "In A Flash" will feature images from the ¶¡ÏãÎåÔÂæÃæÃÖÐÎÄ group's trip to Rwanda.
Members of the ¶¡ÏãÎåÔÂæÃæÃÖÐÎÄ delegation attending , a global peace conference in Kigali, Rwanda, were treated to a soaring show by this mother with her baby from a group of local velvet monkeys. Velvet monkeys are common throughout East Africa and live in rural and urban environments.
The conference is sponsored by ¶¡ÏãÎåÔÂæÃæÃÖÐÎÄ’s School of Peace and Conflict Studies, ¶¡ÏãÎåÔÂæÃæÃÖÐÎÄ’s Gerald H. Read Center for International and Intercultural Education, the and the , a non-profit organization dedicated to ending genocide and other global atrocities.
Bringing together peace and conflict experts and educators from around the world, the conference is another building block in ¶¡ÏãÎåÔÂæÃæÃÖÐÎÄ’s growing relationship with the University of Rwanda. In May 2022, ¶¡ÏãÎåÔÂæÃæÃÖÐÎÄ’s Board of Trustees approved ¶¡ÏãÎåÔÂæÃæÃÖÐÎÄ opening a base of operations at the University of Rwanda for creating collaborative educational exchanges and to serve as a base of operations for ¶¡ÏãÎåÔÂæÃæÃÖÐÎÄ’s recruitment throughout Africa.
