Three "Giving Trees" are on display in the lobby of the Beverly J. Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center on ¶¡ÏãÎåÔÂæÃæÃÖÐÎÄ's Kent Campus. They will be there, with tags to take, from Nov. 17-Dec. 17. The tags decorating each tree are inscribed with descriptions of items on the holiday wish list for three different local organizations. Without a doubt, Elizabeth Sowa is the definition of high achiever.Currently a junior at Glen Oak High School, they earned a first-place award this past summer at the ¶¡ÏãÎåÔÂæÃæÃÖÐÎÄ Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) competition as a College Credit Plus student through the Stark Campus.While they have their sights set on graduating high school in 2027, Sowa will also graduate that year with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from ¶¡ÏãÎåÔÂæÃæÃÖÐÎÄ, with a minor in computer science....

As a doctoral student pursuing a Ph.D. in sociology, Adedayo Adeagbo is doing her research on dignity care for aging people using advancements of technology in healthcare. With a specialization in medical sociology, Adeagbo’s thesis is built on the perceptions and attitudes of healthcare workers and the use of robots for caring for older adults.
 The College of Public Health provided me with both the theoretical foundation and practical skills necessary to succeed in my career. The program’s strong emphasis on epidemiology, data analysis, and community health gave me the tools to understand and address public health challenges from a scientific perspective.
