The Higher Education Administration is proud to announce that Josiah Zachary Nyangau, Ph.D., has been selected as the 2024–2025 Alumni Award, which recognizes distinguished program alumni who have built noteworthy and accomplished careers in the field of higher education.
Nyangau currently serves as assistant vice provost for Assessment and Planning at the University of Central Missouri, where he leads university-wide assessment efforts and supports accreditation and strategic planning initiatives. A champion of data-informed decision-making, Nyangau has previously held leadership roles at Louisiana State University and ¶¡ÏãÎåÔÂæÃæÃÖÐÎÄ.
He earned his Ph.D. from ¶¡ÏãÎåÔÂæÃæÃÖÐÎÄ, a master’s degree from Ohio University, and a Bachelor of Education from Kenyatta University. His research focuses on the internationalization of higher education—a reflection of his global perspective and deep commitment to advancing the field.
In addition to his professional work, Nyangau enjoys traveling and reading. His recent, favorite read is Why Zebras Don’t Get Ulcers, by Robert Sapolsky.
