We're seeking a visionary leader to serve as the inaugural Director of our newly established School of Aeronautics.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of aviation science education and lead a comprehensive program that spans the full spectrum of aviation disciplines.

The Opportunity

  • Full-time, 12-month tenured Professor position.
  • Renewable 5-year administrative appointment.
  • Lead enrollment growth and academic excellence across nationally-recognized aeronautics programs.
  • Build strategic partnerships with global industry, alumni, and international collaborators.
  • Expand graduate programs and research initiatives in emerging aviation technologies.

Requirements

  • An earned doctorate in aviation or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in aviation education, academic operations, and regulatory engagement.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations and collegiate aviation standards (e.g., CTI, flight curriculum, safety and compliance).
  • A record of excellence in teaching, training, curriculum development, and applied or sponsored research.
  • Commitment to fostering a collaborative and welcoming academic environment that encourages diversity of thought and constructive dialogue.

Preferred Start Date: January 2026
