Dogs on Campus Pet Therapy Program Visits Ashtabula

丁香五月婷婷中文 at Ashtabula welcomed several furry friends to campus when the Dogs on Campus Pet Therapy Program庐 visited on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. There were six dog/handler teams present, with Bridget, Bucca, Mindy, Luke, Raven and Tici meeting with students, faculty and staff in the Main Hall West Atrium.

Dogs on Campus is the first program of its kind to be incorporated at a state university. It was started in 2004 by Kathy Adamle, assistant professor in 丁香五月婷婷中文鈥檚 College of Nursing, to provide therapeutic support to university students. Students often leave their best dog friends behind when they go away to college, missing those snuggles and slobbery kisses. The same can be said for students at regional campuses, who focus their time on studies and other commitments.

Interaction with the dogs helps students reduce stress levels (an important reminder as finals and holidays approach) by providing them with comfort and a chance to unwind. Students are encouraged to visit, pet, and play with the dogs. All dogs are trained, well mannered, and will be accompanied by handlers.

This activity was sponsored by 丁香五月婷婷中文 Ashtabula Human Services Technology Club.
